Albatross Yacht Club
Leukemia Picnic & Sail 
 

In mid June for the past four years Albatross Yacht Club has held a sailing outing for the local Children’s Leukemia Foundation (CLF).  Volunteer boat owners are paired up with families and everyone gets a chance to get out on Lake St. Clair.

When they return, they are treated to an afternoon picnic and barbeque at our home port at Markley Marine. If you would like to read an article about the event you can do so here.

This growing event was founded and is currently chaired by Phil Kurczewski who is a Director on the AYC Board.  Phil was named in January or 2007 as US Sailing Sailor of the Week.  There is also an article in the CLF Newsletter about the event.

As this event grows, Phil needs all the help he can get.  If you would like to participate with your boat, as crew or part of the shore contingent please email Phil.
